Costs: £75 (within 20 miles of Bath). To be paid before the consultation.
This first consultation takes place at your house, and takes about 2 hours.
We will discuss your situation, your needs and your budget. I will also take measurements, and take pictures of the present situation.

Interior Design
In my experience you will get the best result if you involve me in the complete design, ordering and implementation process. I’m best at complete make-overs of spaces.
This means I come up with the complete plan:

Floor plan layout
A 1:20 or 1:10 (depending on the size of the space) scale drawing on A3 paper, indicating where all furniture is placed.

Lighting plan
A 1:20 scale overlay on transparent paper, indicating where all lighting is placed.
A plan in writing, indicating the purpose and types of lighting, as well as links to the actual
light fixings.

Mood board with Colour scheme
An A3 foam board with pictures of the desired style, atmosphere, paint colour and fabric
samples.

Interior Design Advice and Plan
A written document based on our conversations and mood board, describing the room as it
will become, including all colours, furniture, fixings and accessories.

Finding Furniture, fixings & accessories
Based on the mood board, the written plan and your budget, I search for and propose the
items to be purchased.

Project Management
Communication with shops and trades people, and ordering of items

My fee structure:
In a proposal I give you a quote for the Designer Fee for the complete project, and estimated cost needed for furniture, furnishings, lighting, paint, accessories, etc.
(E.g. £1,000 Designer Fee for a complete make-over of a living room, with an estimated cost of £10,000 for everything that needs purchasing).

To benefit us both, whenever possible and when it is the best option, I purchase items from companies that I have Trade Agreements with, or can get a Trade Agreement with.
For every discount, I will discount you one third of the discount I receive.
(E.g. if I receive a 15% discount, you get the item 5% cheaper than if you had to purchase it
yourself, and my commission is 10% on that particular item.)

For the items that I can’t get any discount on, or if it is a sales product, but it’s the best
choice or the one you prefer, a 5% surcharge applies.

If the total commission (discount on purchases and surcharges together) is under the quoted Designer Fee, the remaining will be added as Designer Fee.

E.g. The quoted Designer Fee is £1,000. If my commission from discounts and surcharges adds up to £700.00, you pay an amount of £300.00 Designer Fee.

No Designer Fee is charged if the total commission is above the quoted Designer Fee.

My involvement pays itself back into all these monetary and other benefits:
– increased property value
– cost savings (via trade discounts or avoiding mistakes)
– space maximisation (e.g. improved functionality, expert space planning)
– well being (e.g. improve comfort, maximise natural light)
– aesthetic improvements
– time savings (e.g. searching for products, ordering, communication with shops and trades people)
– professional knowledge and expertise – avoid mistakes, make faster decisions
– expert product knowledge
